Pastor Alan
Granger grew up in a single parent household in Los
Angeles, California. Although his mother worked hard,
they we still subject to poverty. Pastor Granger learned
early on that because of his family's situation, he
would need to contribute to the family, and at 13 years
old, started working to help out.
At 18, he knew
he would be drafted, as the Vietnam War was on, so he
enlisted in the Navy. It was a short lived career, as
he fell prone to the drug use of the era.
Pastor Granger
was discharged and without direction or focus, spent
more time in trouble than not. Hanging with the wrong
crowd, he committed a felony that landed him in prison.
During his time
in prison, a pastor and group of musicians would come
in and lead the prisoners wanting to participate in
service and song. Because of Alan's Jewish upbringing,
he did not participate, but did go to watch and ask
questions. It was during one of these visitations that
Alan met Vanna, his wife. It was at a later service
that he accepted Yeshua/Jesus as Saviour and became
a Full Gospel believer.
From that moment on,
with his life in God's hands and under His direction,
Alan has experienced a power and life of profound favor
which saved his life, saved the opportunity for a family,
and placed him in a humbling position as leader in God's
Kingdom.
